Jailhouse Studios - April 25th

It’s been 3 years without a new album, and we are finally back in the studio! After a great show in Odense (Denmark) last night we went straight to Jailhouse Studios in Horsens, to record drums and vocals for the next Manticora album with Tommy Hansen as our “Master of buttons”

Even though we had a big party in the bus on our way here and almost no sleep last night, Mads woke up in a tremendous shape and nailed down 3 tracks today!

Right now we are enjoying a silent glass of wine, some beers, rhum and cola and what else is left when we are done with that.

More to follow soon….stay tuned!

Jailhouse Studios – April 26th

What a beautiful morning…we slept 6 hours, after having been a bit drunk last night (some more than others). We had a nice breakfast, with fresh-baked rolls and soft-boiled eggs.

Entering the studio….and Mads began slaying again, this time laying down drums for our epic MF of a song. It’ll be between 14 and 16 minutes long. It took a little bit longer to nail down than the songs yesterday, but eventually the song was finished. Mads got a bit tired so Lars took over with vocal recordings. 2 tracks were sung, and in the meantime we had a nice visit from Finn Zierler from Beyond Twilight. He looked like he digged the stuff he heard.

After recording, it was time for a good lasagna with some great redwine.

Nothing much more happening here…we’re trying to decide if we should grab a 6 pack each and drink ourselves down to Hell, or if we should stay totally serious/sober and go to bed…..

Go into our forum and write us what YOU think we’re deciding to do…

Jailhouse Studios - April 27th

What a great day in the studio…..Mads and Lars really did a fantastic job!
Several  songs were tracked pretty fast on the drums, meaning Lars had a lot of time to do lead vocals and choir parts (including Kasper and Mads) on the songs that were now recorded, and it went very well!

It’s quite strange to hear the vocal parts taking shape before the bass and the guitars. We’ve never tried that before.

After a successfull day we decided to go to a local bar to celebrate, a place that has become our favorite bar during years of recording at Jailhouse Studios.

2 beers later and we are back home and still sober enough to write this studio report (hehe), but we gotta head to bed now to be able to record some good stuff again tomorrow.

Sleep tight, and keep your hands above the sheets.

Jailhouse Studios – April 28th

Thus went another day. We weren’t hung over from last night, so it felt strange to wake up, haha. Great breakfast and the 3-S.

At 10 a.m., Mads began blasting away, and at 13.00, he finished the last track for this, our 7th album!! Beautiful job, Mads….you ARE the Madschine!!!

Lars took over, fist flanked by the rest of the guys for some serious choir stuff, and then he did most of the vocals for the epic 14-15 minute song that will be the title track of the album. The clock turned and at 18.00, we had a quick pizza, where after Tommy (our producer) invited us to join him in the main studio for an extravagant experience: watching Avatar on his new home-cinema, with a 3000 Watt subwoofer!!!! Incredible experience! Even Lars, who didn’t like the movie, had to admit that it was a great sound system, and thereby a cool experience.

Last day of vocal recordings tomorrow. Then we’ll head home to Copenhagen and begin the bass and guitar tracking in the Room Of Doom.

One more beer and then it’s off to bed. Nightie, nightie….

Copenhagen - April 30th

First part of the recordings for the new album is now done…and it went VERY well!

We are now back in Copenhagen where recordings of bass and guitars will take place in the first 3 weeks of May. We will return to Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios on May 30th to do the mixing of the album.

The studio report will continue in this section during the recordings of bass and guitars, so drop by once in a while.

Copenhagen - May 6th

Martin and Kristian are now busting their asses off to record guitars for the new album! One song is already done and several will follow the next couple of days.

The guitar sound is so heavy/evil that it makes Satan looks like a little school girl! If you have any questions regarding what equipment we use to the record the guitars, please write us at our forum and we will answer asap!

Jailhouse Studios - May 30th

Hey guys,

We’re back in Jailhouse after a GREAT weekend in Budapest at the Metalfest…Well, Mads and Kristian aren’t here, since they have become older than Tut Ankh Amon and his friends!! Nah, seriously, Mads recently became a father and Kristian had very important issues that cause for him not to be here (nothing dangerous - no worries).

Well, we’re rocking away with Tommy Hansen, transferring keyboards and other files for the album.
We had a rough night yesterday, when the booze took over….again, hehehehe. Fortunately, we’re so young that we can arrive home at 3.00 a.m., and still be able to work 8 hours in the studio, making sweet music for YOU. We’re kind of metal gods….like….the best….ever….and ever…etc.

Pictures will be uploaded frequently, whereas we’ll be writing a final studio report on Thursday, instead of keeping writing small details about sound samples, which would eventually bore you all to death!
Oh, btw. We’ll have a bbq in the front yard hereon Tuesday. Drop by, if you like!
